What can’t CV writing companies do for clients?
Contrary to what some people think, no CV company can guarantee its clients will land a particular job. I do not know of any UK CV company who claims to guarantee jobs, although some do pretty much intimate that if you have one of their CVs it will be more or less a formality (see further in this chapter about companies who quote statistics).
In the US some companies are more forthright, claiming that interviews are not only guaranteed, but guaranteed within a short timescale (no matter what jobs you apply for, how many or when). UK clients are pretty discerning on the whole, and would see through this, as do many US clients. However, some jobseekers must take up the bait, otherwise such adverts would cease.
