Personal message from our Customer Service Manager, Peter Green
My name is Peter Green. I am a career sector author with a successful business background and vast experience both hiring and interviewing candidates. As a former employer myself, I know what employers look for, as well as how they like it presented.
For the last 10 years I have been helping people from all walks of life improve their career prospects via my free CV appraisal service.
The service I offer is different to that you will find at many other companies.
Firstly, I don’t believe in just tweaking a generic template and sending it out en-bulk to the masses. That doesn’t help anyone – least of all you!
On the contrary, I believe that to truly help those seeking to improve their CV and advance their career both a personal touch and honesty is required.
Consequently, if you come to me for help and advice I will not only actually spend real time personally examining and assessing your CV, but rather than just sending out a generic response by e-mail, I will actually give you a personal response, based on your own individual CV, your own circumstances and your own job roles (if you let me know what these are).
As mentioned, I also believe that if I am to give you the best possible help then honesty is very important. Yes, I could pussyfoot around, and just tell you what you want to hear – however, that’s not going to help your job prospects if your CV needs work – and it usually does!
In fact, in all these years I have never once received a CV from a candidate that could not be improved – usually on numerous levels. And your job prospects should improve, sometimes dramatically, if you can address any potential issues that are identified.
The beauty of my CV review service is that I can not only quickly identify areas for improvement, but I can also give you a clear indication of what can be done to improve them.
Some people thank me for the advice, go away and make improvements themselves, others ask about the prospect of one of the top writers at CV Succeed helping improve their CV for them. In either case, I am happy to answer any questions and advise accordingly. Ultimately, it is entirely up to you. My CV review service is totally free, and without any commitment or obligation whatsoever.
Over the years I have helped thousands of people dramatically improve their CV, and I would be happy to help you too.
Because I give each person a personal response this does mean that each request does take more time, and I do usually have a waiting list. Even so, I try to respond to requests as quickly as I can, and this is usually within 48 hours, or even the same day.
If you would like my help then please start by clicking the link to request your free appraisal, and then sending me your CV to examine.
Personal comment from career sector author, Paul
Peter has been with us for many years and the feedback we receive regarding Peter has always been, and continues to be fantastic. It is not just the fact that he really knows his stuff that people like, but the fact that he genuinely cares, and goes out of his way to help people. Yes he can be brutally honest at times when it comes to CV appraisals, but we know from our feedback that people who come to us for advice tend to understand and fully appreciate that too.
If you want a career sector author with real experience recruiting and employing people to give it to you straight– then Peter’s your man!

How It Works
It is very simple to take advantage of our free curriculum vitae appraisal service.
The first step is to click the ‘request review’ button below. Once you do that you will be taken to a page and will be invited to provide contact details (so we can contact you) and indicate when it is best to contact you (if you have a preference). You will then be invited to upload your current CV, and you can do this directly online.
Once you have uploaded your information, Peter, who manages our curriculum vitae appraisal service will examine your CV and let you know his findings, together with any recommendations for improvements. Usually he does this by telephone, although sometimes it is conducted by e-mail.
How long does it take?
As this service is free, and is conducted by a real career sector professional (rather than a typical call centre rep), Peter is always in demand, and you may have to wait a while. Even so, Peter usually assesses and can give you feedback on your curriculum vitae within one to three working days. If for some reason you need feedback sooner, please mention this and Peter will try to accommodate this for you. (You can give additional comments/requests when you upload your CV).
Do people find this useful?
Yes – we regularly receive very positive comments about this free service from jobseekers, both about Peter and how knowledgeable/helpful he is as well as about the quality of advice he gives.
Who uses the service?
Peter is vastly experienced and has been doing this for a long time.
Over the years he has helped people from all walks of life, in all jobs sectors at all levels from new entrants to executive/directors of large blue-chip companies. Wherever you are in your career, Peter will be happy to advise you.
More about Peter…
Peter is a recognised authority on both CVs and job interview techniques, and has spoken on the BBC as a career sector expert. Click here for more details.
Will he be able to identify areas for improvement with my CV?
The vast majority of CVs we receive to appraise have various flaws, and usually on numerous levels. This also applies to people who think that their current CV is good, or who has had their current CV written by another professional CV writing service. Consequently, it is very likely that Peter will be able to not only identify various areas for improvement for your CV, but also impart useful advice and suggest potential solutions and recommendations.
Is the advice generic/general?
We are not one of those companies who just send out general/generic reviews based on a template. On the contrary, this is a quality service that we could actually charge for. Indeed, we have frequently been told as much by many thankful participants!
The advice that Peter gives you will be specifically for you, and rather than just talk in vague and general terms, Peter can go into more detail and explain the reasons why your CV currently isn’t working (if that is the case), and if so he can elaborate on just how it can be improved, and explain why this is.
Is it the same advice for everyone?
No – we treat each case separately, and we treat each person as an individual.
The advice Peter gives you will be based around you, your own personal CV, and the career goals that you yourself are aiming to achieve.
Will Peter recommend your services?
That really depends on you, what you are looking to achieve, and what is the best course of action to help you achieve your goals. If Peter genuinely and honestly thinks that we can help you, given the state of your current CV and the job goals you wish to pursue, then he will indicate in which way we can help, and he can also give you an indication of what you can expect if you do ask us for help. At the same time, as mentioned, the advice we give is honest, and is always given with the best of intentions and with your best interests at heart. Sometimes this involves giving people advice and recommendations that has nothing to do with our services. It is not unusual for us to point someone in a different direction or towards another resource if we think it is the best advice for you.
Is there any commitment or obligation on my part?
No, there is no commitment or obligation on your part whatsoever. The service is 100% free, and is there for your benefit.
Can I ask any questions?
Yes – please do!
The service is there for you, and so if you have any queries, doubts or would like further clarification on any area related to your curriculum vitae then just let Peter know and he will be happy to help you.
