Q. How did you discover that there were better ways to write CVs?
A. I think it stemmed really from just noticing some flaws, holes and pitfalls of traditional CV writing methodology. If you look at some traditional CV writing advice up close there are conflicts, and some things just are not logical and do not make sense.

I didn’t just miraculously know the answers to these conflicts, but what I did do is do some research, try out some scenarios and gauged which work best. I also did this over a period of years, not just weeks. So it wasn’t an overnight revelation, but more a case of discovering more over quite a long period of time.

Q. You mention CV books, what do you think of other CV books?
A. I think that generally they are much of a muchness. When I first started writing CVs I did read a couple of CV books, but it was only when I thought about approaching publishers with my CV book that I examined more books. I was actually surprised at how similar they were. To me they were saying pretty much the same thing, and none of it was new, and to me at least, some of it seemed flawed.
